India tour of Ireland. Ireland Stun India in Historic Upset

India's tour of Ireland began with one of the biggest surprises in recent T20 International history as Ireland defeated India by 34 runs in the opening T20I at Stormont, Belfast. The victory was Ireland's first-ever win over India in international cricket and gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

After being asked to bat first, Ireland produced a fearless batting performance. Captain Lorcan Tucker led from the front with a composed half-century, while Gareth Delany played a crucial late-innings cameo to help Ireland post a challenging total of 182/9. Their aggressive intent and smart shot selection kept the Indian bowlers under pressure throughout the innings.

India's chase never gained momentum. Despite having several experienced T20 batters, the visitors struggled to adapt to the conditions in Belfast. Regular wickets prevented any meaningful partnerships, and Ireland's disciplined bowling attack ensured that India was bowled out for 148, sealing a memorable 34-run victory.

The defeat also marked an unfortunate beginning to Shreyas Iyer's tenure as India's T20I captain, making him another Indian skipper to lose his first match in charge. Ireland's bowlers executed their plans brilliantly, while their fielding remained sharp under pressure.

For India, the result serves as a reminder that no international opponent can be taken lightly in modern T20 cricket. The visitors will now look to regroup quickly in the second and final T20I to avoid losing the series, while Ireland will be full of confidence after scripting one of the greatest victories in their cricketing history.

This unforgettable contest once again proved why T20 cricket remains the most unpredictable format of the game, where discipline, execution, and fearless cricket can overcome even the strongest opposition.

India vs Sri Lanka: Why the Battle of Spin Could Decide the Test Series

Wri tten  By Chetan Pandey Cricket Analyst & Sports Journalist Test cricket is a game of patience, discipline and adaptability, and the upcoming India vs Sri Lanka contest promises to provide all three. While both teams possess talented batsmen and experienced bowlers, one battle could ultimately define the series — the battle of spin. Spin Could Become the Biggest Weapon Sri Lankan conditions have traditionally offered plenty of assistance to spin bowlers, particularly as the match progresses and the surface begins to deteriorate. In such conditions, quality spinners can change the direction of a Test match within a few overs. India, with its strong spin-bowling resources, will look to exploit these conditions. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, will have the advantage of playing in familiar surroundings. The team that reads the pitch better and uses its spinners more intelligently could gain a decisive advantage. India's Batting Must Show Patience For India, the responsibility...
